One more Post

Happy Late Valentine's Day!! We've just finally put away my Christmas Village now that John's car is on the base safe and sound and out of the way of the decoration bins! Be sure to scroll down toward the bottom to see the full-size photos of the village. Timothy spent a lot of time and effort this year getting it all together and wouldn't let me help, just like last year. We had a lot more this year. All those trips to Disneyland tempted me to head over to Dept. 56 and keep adding more.

Belated Christmas Cheer

Yeh, Christmas has come and gone and I'm just getting photos posted. You can see, we didn't have a very exciting Christmas.

Snow in Vegas

As you may already know, we had record breaking weather in December. We had SNOW!! 3 inches on our doorstep. I just wish I would of taken photos the next day before it all melted. There was a lot more than what you see in the photo.

I'm all backwards!

You know, this stuff makes me crazy. I come on here to Blog and catch up and I get it backwards all mixed up. I'm too tired to go and try to fix it. I hope you can figure it all out.

Another Month Gone By

Wow!! Another month has gone by and I haven't posted anything. Sorry! I've been telling everyone I would get on here and update so, here you are!
I'm going to post the photos from our November trip to So. CA.
The purpose of the trip was for a Jenks Family Reunion (my family) in Camarillo, CA. We were staying at our property in Anaheim a few blocks from Disneyland, so of course we had to go there as well!! We spread out the visits to Disneyland around the reunion on Thanksgiving Day. I hadn't seen these family members for 6 years!
There were also a couple of rest days as well. This was one of those trips where I needed a vacation when we got back to Vegas!! Whew!!

One Tired Buddy Boy

At the end of the afternoon, we were both in pretty bad shape. We sat to eat a snack and Timothy pooped out. For 30 minutes!! Until I woke him up and dragged him back to the condo. I almost fell in the street on the way back too! Rolled in soda all over the sidewalk as I fell, twisting my back. Not a fun ending for a great day.

Reindeer?

I think these are really moose or elk. It's a nice thought for the kiddos anyway.

Poinsettias

Do you know anyone who hangs out at Disneyland looking at the poinsettas? I do. I love them!! Can't get enough of them. I have plenty of photos of poinsettas!
DID YOU KNOW? Poinsettias were originally found in Mexico, growing on the side of the road wild like a weed!!

Still Trying to get the hang of Blogging

Sorry, this blog looks confusing now that I try to read it as a visitor. I've tried to fix it. This stuff just isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I know some of you are big pros at this. I'm just hanging in there!

Alright, If I Have To!

I've posted about my boys, so I guess I should post a photo of myself. Here's one from the Disneyland trip in November. Head shot only!!

More about John

John likes to take power naps during his lunch time or just after work before moving on to evening activities. His schedule in Iraq has been fowled up but I see he is still making time for his naps. He sent these photos to me yesterday and told me that a co-worker took them with John's Safety camera. I'm glad to see they still have a sense of humor over there!

My Honey

John has sent me some very nice photos that I will post. At the date of this post, he is in Qatar. That's a relief for me, believe me. We don't know where they will move him next. He may get to stay in Qatar-let's all pray that he does.

Second Post

Well, that first post wasn't as easy as I thought. Let's see how we do with this one. I'm just going to post this handsome photo of my boy that I took in November before we went back to Southern CA. I took pictures of myself but you won't see those!! They made me look fatter than I am. I don't need that!!

More about Disney trip

I forgot to mention that we were lucky enough to have an all boy group for the California history class. Timothy made some buddies and had a really good time.
Of course, we had to shop at World of Disney!

FIRST POST!!

Well, we have succumbed to Blogging, although I said I never would. Several of our friends do it and it has been a great way to keep in touch with those who use computers. We still have a few who don't use computers, so I have to figure that one out.

Our first post will be about our September 2008 trip to Disneyland with the Homeschoolers.
This was our second year participating in the Disney Resorts YES program. YES stands for Youth Education Series. The Disney Cast Members take groups of students and parents behind the scenes and teach about various subjects. This year, we took again the "Animation Magic" class and "California, here I come." Disney is the master at animation so we had a lot of fun learning about the history of animation and how to draw. The kids got to do their own storyboards together for their own story. Then they presented their story for the group. I found out that I can actually draw!! It's become a hobby of mine now. Drawing relieves a lot of stress!
The "California, here I come" class is about California history. Since John and I both are native Californians, it just made sense to educate Timothy on the history. California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort represents aspects of California in many ways. It covers the history of aviation, the California forests, the wine industry among other interesting topics. I could of passed on the wine history but it is an integral part of California's history.
We took the same classes last year when we went. This year we are going to try a couple of new ones. This time John will be going so, he can accompany Timothy to the classes while mom has fun doing her own thing for a change!!
